I like the idea behind it. I would think that food for all members of the family for 3 months or more would be a minimum. I would also add a .22 rifle, a shotgun, and a hunting rifle to the collection, along with ammo enough to last for several years. All of these things, especially the ammo, if oversupply exists, can be used as trade/barter items later.
